Join a modern regional referral setting with contemporary operating theatres, day surgery, emergency and critical care services. The department delivers a broad elective surgical programme alongside urgent and emergency care, offering varied work across multiple specialties. This is a permanent, full-time Staff Specialist appointment.
What you’ll be doing
• Provide anaesthetic care for elective, urgent and emergency procedures.
• Contribute to perioperative clinics on a rotating basis.
• Work across orthopaedics, general surgery, obstetrics and gynaecology, urology and dental surgery.
• Support airway management, acute pain care, resuscitation and perioperative medicine.
• Participate in clinical handover, on-call services and multidisciplinary patient management.
• Contribute to teaching, supervision, quality improvement and clinical governance.
• Work closely with surgical, medical, emergency, anaesthetic nursing and recovery teams.
What you’ll bring
• A primary medical degree that is registrable with AHPRA.
• FANZCA, or eligibility through an appropriate overseas-trained specialist pathway.
• Eligibility for specialist registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
• Recent, comprehensive experience in anaesthesia across a varied case mix.
• Strong communication, teamwork and patient-centred care skills.
• The ability to contribute to teaching, leadership and service improvement.
