The opportunity
Join a multidisciplinary community mental health team delivering assessment and treatment across a broad range of age groups. You’ll work alongside psychiatrists, registrars, psychologists, social workers, mental health nurses and other specialist professionals, contributing clinical expertise while helping shape responsive regional services.
What you’ll be doing
• Deliver specialist psychiatric assessment and treatment in a community setting.
• Provide clinical leadership, advice and consultation to GPs, healthcare professionals, service providers and carers.
• Chair clinical reviews and support compliance with mental health legislation.
• Develop effective partnerships that promote coordinated patient care.
• Contribute to service planning, quality improvement and professional development.
• Teach and mentor junior doctors and other mental health professionals.
• Travel occasionally to other regional mental health sites.
What you’ll bring
• Eligibility for registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
• Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists, with the Certificate of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry or an approved equivalent where applicable.
Alternatively, relevant advanced psychiatry training status where the requirements stated in the vacancy are met.
• Substantial clinical experience in general adult, child, adolescent or youth mental health, relevant to the position.
• Willingness to work across regional services when required.
• Ability to meet the screening, integrity, health-assessment and Working with Children Check requirements associated with appointment.
