Join a collaborative women’s and children’s service in metropolitan Victoria as a permanent Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist. This opportunity is aimed at onshore specialists holding FRANZCOG and suitably qualified overseas doctors eligible for Australia’s expedited specialist pathway.

The opportunity
This permanent specialist position sits within a multidisciplinary women’s and children’s service providing obstetric and gynaecological care to a diverse patient population. You will work alongside midwifery and nursing teams, neonatal and maternal–fetal medicine colleagues, gynaecological oncology specialists, urogynaecologists, advanced laparoscopic surgeons and allied health professionals.
There may also be scope to develop special interests in areas such as safety and quality or medical education.
What you’ll be doing
• Deliver specialist obstetric and gynaecological care.
• Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary clinical team.
• Support and supervise junior medical staff.
• Contribute to safe, high-quality and patient-centred care.
• Participate in clinical education, quality improvement and service development where appropriate.
What you’ll bring
• FRANZCOG and current AHPRA specialist registration for onshore applicants; or
• A recognised specialist qualification and eligibility for the relevant expedited specialist pathway for overseas applicants.
• Clinical experience and competence appropriate to a consultant-level position.
• Experience supporting and supervising junior doctors.
• The ability to work effectively with medical, midwifery, nursing and allied health colleagues.
• A commitment to collaborative and inclusive clinical practice.
• Eligibility for the expedited pathway and AHPRA registration will need to be assessed individually.
