The opportunity
This is a permanent Visiting Medical Officer opportunity for a General Medicine Physician. You will provide inpatient and outpatient general medicine services as part of a collaborative specialist team, with negotiable weekly hours and participation in the after-hours roster.
The role combines broad clinical practice with opportunities to teach, mentor and support doctors in training. There is also scope to establish privately referred outpatient services from your own consulting rooms.
What you’ll be doing
• Deliver comprehensive inpatient and outpatient General Medicine services.
• Participate in the General Medicine after-hours on-call roster, currently 1:8.
• Work collaboratively with physicians from a broad range of medical specialties.
• Contribute to multidisciplinary patient care and clinical decision-making.
• Teach and mentor medical students, junior doctors and physician trainees.
• Support clinical governance, safety and quality improvement activities.
• Maintain ongoing professional development and peer-review participation.
What you’ll bring
• A primary medical degree that is registrable with AHPRA.
• Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians or eligibility to be considered through an overseas-trained specialist pathway.
• Recent, comprehensive experience in General Medicine.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• The ability to work effectively within an interdisciplinary clinical team.
• Evidence of leadership, adaptability and involvement in safety and quality improvement.
• A commitment to teaching, professional development and clinical governance.
