About This Emergency Medicine Registrar Role
Albury Wodonga Health is seeking Emergency Medicine Registrars to join its expanding Emergency Department for the 2027 clinical year.
These are full-time, part-time and fixed-term accredited registrar positions suitable for doctors with a strong interest in regional Emergency Medicine, broad clinical exposure and structured training.
The department supports ACEM trainees, Rural Generalist registrars, ACRRM and RACGP trainees, with pathways available across Emergency Medicine, Core Emergency rotations, Advanced Skills Training, Additional Rural Skills Training and ACEM Associateship training.
This is an excellent opportunity for UK doctors, Irish doctors and international medical graduates looking to develop their Emergency Medicine career in Australia within a well-supported regional training environment.

• Salary: $120,000 – $175,000 per year
Training and Career Development
This Emergency Medicine Registrar role offers a strong training environment with access to structured education, senior supervision and multiple accredited pathways.

The department also offers an accredited Special Skills term in Ultrasound, with a 50:50 Emergency Department and ultrasound roster over six months. This includes supervision from echocardiographers and ASUM-accredited FACEMs.
A Medical Administration term for FRACMA is also in development.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will contribute to the delivery of Emergency Medicine services across a busy regional Emergency Department.
Responsibilities include:
• Providing clinical care to emergency patients across a broad case mix
• Managing presentations including trauma, complex medicine, paediatrics and procedural work
• Working as part of a multidisciplinary Emergency Department team
• Participating in rostered clinical duties across the Albury and Wodonga campuses
• Engaging in education, supervision and training activities
• Completing workplace-based assessments where relevant to your training pathway
• Supporting a culture focused on sustainability, growth and patient care
About the Emergency Department
Albury Wodonga Health operates across two hospital campuses and is Australia’s only cross-border public health service.
The Emergency Department sees more than 85,000 presentations annually and manages a broad clinical mix, including:
Major trauma
Complex medical presentations
Paediatric emergency care
Procedural Emergency Medicine
Regional referral presentations
The service is continuing to expand, with significant investment in Emergency Department infrastructure and senior medical staffing.
The Albury campus is expanding to 42 treatment spaces and 16 short stay beds, with increased permanent FACEM and Rural Generalist presence providing enhanced senior supervision across day and evening shifts.
