About the Role
Gladstone Hospital is seeking a Registrar or Principal House Officer to join its Emergency Department on a full-time basis.
The role supports the delivery of high-quality Emergency Medicine services under the direction and supervision of the Director, Staff Specialists and other senior medical staff.
You will work in a regional Emergency Department with strong senior support and a varied caseload across adult and paediatric emergency presentations.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide Emergency Medicine care under senior supervision.
• Support safe, timely and effective assessment and management of ED patients.
• Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality patient care.
• Participate in clinical duties, supervision and ongoing professional development.
• Contribute to the effective running of the Emergency Department.

Gladstone Hospital is a 79-bed regional hospital providing a broad range of inpatient and outpatient services.
Services include emergency medicine, general medicine, surgery, basic orthopaedics, clinical investigations, obstetrics, maternity, gynaecology, high dependency and coronary care, palliative care, neonatal nursery, medical imaging, pathology and paediatrics.

Selection Criteria
Applicants must hold an MBBS or equivalent qualification enabling registration as a Medical Practitioner with AHPRA at Level 3 supervision.
Current Basic Life Support certification is required.
Experience or qualifications in Emergency Medicine would be well regarded.
Doctors who obtained their qualification outside Australia must be eligible for AHPRA registration with the appropriate supervision level.
Salary and Benefits
Base salary: $134,489 – $155,125 per annum, depending on level.
Total remuneration value up to $177,890 per annum at L9.
