You’ll be based in Hobart, Tasmania, working within a well-established private Emergency Department located close to a major tertiary public hospital.
Private Emergency Departments are common in Australia, with many patients using private health insurance to access shorter wait times and rapid assessment.

This is a unique roster designed around lifestyle flexibility.
• The Roster
• 10 night shifts per month.
• Long stretches of free time between shifts.
• Additional optional shifts available if you wish to increase earnings.
• During shifts, you will have access to senior Consultant-level support as required.
Pay & Benefits
• Salary A$1,700 per shift.
• Approximate annual salary: A$204,000.
• Equivalent to approximately £102,000 per year at current exchange rates.

Start Date
The hospital is ideally seeking someone to commence around mid-2026, although there is flexibility for the right candidate.
You must be willing to commit to a 12-month placement.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for this role, you must:
• Hold full GMC registration with licence to practise.
• Be currently working at F4+ level or equivalent.
• Have significant Emergency Medicine / A&E experience post-Foundation training.
• Experience can include Trust Grade, fellowship or locum work.
• If you graduated from a non-UK medical school, you must have
Completed PLAB
• Worked in the UK for at least 12 months.
