CREATIVE CAREERS IN MEDICINE 2021 (CCIM)

Blugibbon has always fostered creativity, from providing our locum doctors with alternative “Spin the Wheel” prizes, to treating them to surprise gifts, to filming them taking  4×4 vehicles across Australia  and many more initiatives that would raise some eyebrows!

So when the opportunity came knocking to sponsor and support the Creative Careers in Medicine community aka CCIM, we jumped higher than a Gibbon.
Started by GP (and telehealth expert) Dr Amandeep Hansra in 2018 her idea culminated with a workshop of healthcare professionals wanting more from their careers. Little did they expect that this burgeoning passion for clinicians to do more would balloon to an event of hundreds of like-minded souls and the movement was well and truly born, alive and kicking.
More than just an event however, the community now provides a  Private Facebook Group , Membership Program, Podcast, Q&A Webinar Series, Mentoring Program, Market Place and Student Community.
You can actually sign up to become a full member of CCIM for $149 or if you’re lucky enough you can win membership on our Spin the Wheel competition.
Most recently they rounded off 2020 in spectacular style with an online extravaganza, CCIM 2020: What’s your superpower? Blugibbon chaired our own session ‘Livin La Vida Locum’ It was all about locum life and creative healthcare jobs and even had our own virtual drop-in lounge to chat, mingle and dispense advice on weird and wonderful opportunities across Australia. If you want to get creative in your locum doctor career in 2021 and beyond, get in touch with the team today on  info@blugibbon.com  or 02 8960 6445.

Enter the DLV2000: part ship, part building site, part offshore medical outpost. It's a beast of a vessel, 182 metres long, 39 metres wide, with its own helideck, heavy-lift cranes, industrial workers in hi-vis, and one solo doctor on board for 28 days at a time. That doctor just happens to be Mark. From emergency med training to inspecting the ship’s galley with the captain (yes, really), Mark gives us a candid look into what life’s really like offshore. The routine, the downtime, the food (spoiler: it’s very good), and the kind of clinical presentations you’ll see when you’re hundreds of kilometres from land with nothing but ocean around you. Curious what it takes to be a ship’s doctor? Wondering if it’s worth the pay and adventure? Or just want to see what “remote medicine” truly means? Mark’s got you covered. Let’s dive in...
