About the Role
Blugibbon is assisting with a Consultant Respiratory and Sleep Physician opportunity in Mackay, Queensland.
This role is based within a Department of Medicine that includes physicians across a range of subspecialties. The position offers a broad respiratory and sleep medicine caseload across hospital and outpatient settings.
You will provide specialist assessment, management and ongoing care for patients across the region, while supporting the wider medical service and contributing to the development of respiratory and sleep medicine locally.
Key Responsibilities
Provide specialist respiratory and sleep medicine services.
Manage inpatient, outpatient and consultative caseloads.
Work with Emergency Medicine, ICU, Cardiology and other medical teams.
Support safe, evidence-based care for a regional patient population.
Contribute to teaching, supervision and training.
Participate in clinical leadership, service planning and quality improvement.
Support outreach or regional models of care where required.

Mackay Base Hospital is the major referral hospital for the Mackay Hospital and Health Service.
