The Role
As a Consultant Anaesthetist, you will provide specialist anaesthesia services as part of a multidisciplinary team, supporting safe, high-quality patient care across the health service.
You will work closely with the Head of Department, fellow consultants, doctors in training, health service medical practitioners, and other healthcare professionals to deliver anaesthesia services in line with clinical governance, safety, and performance standards.
The role includes:
• Providing specialist anaesthesia services to patients
• Leading and supporting multidisciplinary clinical care
• Promoting patient safety and quality improvement
• Supporting orientation, training, supervision, and education of junior doctors and other health workers
• Working collaboratively with senior medical staff and departmental leadership
• Contributing to national, state, and local performance standards and targets
• Practising within an approved scope of clinical practice
The position may also be relevant to specialists with experience or interest in pain medicine.
