Blugibbon is supporting applications for Consultant Physicians in Geriatric Medicine to join a regional health service across Bunbury and Busselton in Western Australia’s South West.

The role is open as part of a recruitment pool for permanent, fixed-term, full-time, part-time or sessional appointments, with appointments available for up to five years and the possibility of extension.
About the Role
As a Consultant Physician in Geriatric Medicine, you will provide specialist geriatric medicine services across the South West Region of Western Australia.
The position includes leadership and clinical contribution across:
• Day therapy services
• Rehabilitation in the Home
• A Rehabilitation and Restorative Care Unit at Bunbury Hospital
• Ortho-geriatric services
• Rehabilitation services at Busselton Hospital
• Inpatient and community-based geriatric medicine services
• Collaboration with the South West Regional Aged Care Team and Aged Care Assessment Team
This is a role suited to a physician who enjoys working across acute, rehabilitation, restorative and community settings, with the opportunity to help shape services across a major regional health network.
The Hospital and Health Service
Bunbury Hospital is a 171-bed public hospital and forms part of the South West Health Campus, the largest health complex in regional Western Australia. The campus is co-located with St John of God Bunbury Hospital and provides care to residents and visitors across the region.
The hospital is also undergoing a significant redevelopment, with investment in a new Emergency Department, clinical tower, expanded theatres, and enhanced maternity, birthing and neonatal services.
You will also work across services connected with Busselton Health Campus, supporting geriatric and rehabilitation care across the broader South West region.
Salary and Benefits
Consultant salary package: AUD $412,161 – $523,436 per annum, based on full-time 80 hours per fortnight.
This package is inclusive of base salary, 12% superannuation and professional development allowance, in line with the WA Health System Medical Practitioners AMA Industrial Agreement 2024.
Final classification and level will depend on qualifications, experience, specialist college assessment outcomes, and AHPRA registration status.
