Blugibbon is seeking Consultant Psychiatrists with experience in CAMHS, Adult Psychiatry, Child and Adolescent Mental Health, or Youth Mental Health for opportunities across the Wheatbelt region of Western Australia.

The role is based primarily with Northam Mental Health Service, with occasional work across other Wheatbelt mental health sites including Narrogin, Merredin and Gingin.
About the Role
You will join Wheatbelt Mental Health Service, which provides community-based mental health assessment and treatment across all age groups. Clinical programs include Adult Mental Health, Child and Adolescent Mental Health, Youth Mental Health, Seniors Mental Health and Aboriginal Mental Health services.
This role offers the opportunity to provide specialist psychiatric care in a regional community setting, while contributing to service development, clinical leadership, teaching and quality improvement.
The position is suitable for Consultant Psychiatrists with experience in:
• CAMHS
• Adult Psychiatry
• Child and Adolescent Mental Health
• Youth Mental Health
• Community Mental Health
• Regional and Rural Psychiatry
Key Responsibilities
You will be responsible for:
• Providing specialist psychiatric assessment, diagnosis and treatment in a community mental health setting
• Supporting care for adults, children, adolescents and young people across the region
• Providing clinical leadership, advice and consultation to GPs, health professionals, service providers and carers
• Contributing to clinical reviews, multidisciplinary care planning and service coordination
• Supporting compliance with the Mental Health Act and relevant clinical governance requirements
• Working with local services, hospitals, GPs and key stakeholders to improve access to mental health care
• Supporting teaching, supervision and mentoring of junior doctors and mental health professionals
• Contributing to quality improvement, service planning and regional mental health initiatives
Salary and Benefits
Consultant Psychiatrist Year 1–9: AUD $412,161 – $523,436 per annum
The salary package is aligned with the WA Health System Medical Practitioners AMA Industrial Agreement 2024 and includes base salary, 12% superannuation and professional development allowance. Final salary is dependent on qualifications, clinical skills and years of practice.

Eligibility
Applicants should hold or be eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
Suitable candidates may include:
Fellows of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists
Psychiatrists with a Certificate of Child Psychiatry or approved equivalent
RANZCP trainees in their penultimate year who have completed required training requirements
UK or Irish-trained Consultant Psychiatrists eligible for the Expedited Specialist Pathway
Doctors with MRCPsych, CCT or CCST and appropriate specialist training
UK and Irish applicants considering the Medical Board of Australia Expedited Specialist Pathway should have MRCPsych, CCT or CCST, AMC primary source verification and an intention to live and work in Australia permanently.
