To have your O&G qualifications assessed by RANZCOG, follow these steps:

  1. Primary Source Verification: Start by having your medical qualifications verified by the Australian Medical Council (AMC). This is a crucial step in ensuring your qualifications meet Australian standards. - here is how you can apply https://www.amc.org.au/pathways/how-to-apply/

  2. SIMG Pathway Application: Apply for assessment through the Specialist International Medical Graduate (SIMG) pathway. You'll need to choose one of the following pathways based on your specific area of expertise:

  • Generalist obstetrics and gynaecology
  • Academic and common scope
  • Subspecialist and common scope
  • Area of need

  1. Complete a Logbook: A detailed logbook of your clinical experience is essential to demonstrate your practical skills and knowledge.

Important Note for UK Applicants:


If you're applying from the UK, you'll need to submit a Certificate of Completion of Training (or equivalent) to demonstrate your specialist qualification. Membership of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (MRCOG) or the Royal Colleges of Physicians (MRCP) alone is not sufficient.
